Primary School Vinohrady

6–15 years

Individualised education in a bilingual environment that prepares pupils for future success.
We are a faculty school of Charles University, Faculty of Education.

Welcome to Tip Toes Primary Prague on Říčanská Street! Our school is set in the calm, charming surroundings of Vinohrady villas, which gives learning and school life a warm, almost family atmosphere. We are a smaller school where every child feels safe, respected and supported. We care that school is a place children look forward to — to their classmates, teachers and to discovering new things every day. Thanks to smaller classes we can give each child individual attention and support their full development.

We have modern classrooms, including a robotics room and an art studio. Pupils also make full use of our outdoor playground in lessons and free-time activities. In addition, we offer a wide range of clubs that nurture creativity, cooperation and personal talents (e.g. LEGO robotics, chess, basketball, floorball, street dance, and music lessons in cooperation with a local arts school right on our premises). In Tip Toes’ bilingual environment, children naturally learn in Czech and English, discover their strengths and gain confidence that carries beyond the classroom.

Our pupils take part in national assessments — Scio tests (Years 5, 7 and 9) and competitions (Mathematical Kangaroo, Logic Olympiad, Pythagoriad). In English they sit international exams — Year 4: Key for Schools (A2), Year 6: PET (B1), and Year 8: FCE (B2).

Our aim is to educate versatile, open-minded young people prepared not only for the next stage of education, but also for life’s challenges. I look forward to our shared journey with you and your children.

With respect,

Mgr. Iva Doubravová

Principal, Tip Toes Primary Prague (Vinohrady)

Most frequent questions

How does teaching work at Tip Toes?

Our programme “A Step in the Right Direction” is built on differentiated instruction tailored to pupils’ talents, aptitudes and interests, with a strong focus on English. We use CLIL from Year 1 to create a natural bilingual environment for subject learning while developing language skills.

Do you run an after-school club?

Yes. The club is open for the whole lower primary (Years 1–5). Morning: 7:30–8:30; Afternoon: 15:00–17:00. We ensure a varied programme full of games and outdoor time. The fee is already included in tuition.

Do you offer after-school clubs?

Yes. Examples include LEGO robotics, chess, street dance, basketball, floorball, jump-rope, musical instruments, singing, and more.

What are the lunch options?

We care about a varied, balanced diet. Lunches are provided by Česká jídelna, which also handles intolerances and allergies. There is a choice of four meals plus a dietary option.

Can pupils take international English exams?

Yes. Our pupils take Cambridge English exams — Year 4: Key for Schools (A2), Year 6: PET (B1), Year 8: FCE (B2).

What activities do you organise during the school year?

We organise a wide range of events, talks and trips, e.g. cycling, rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, Summer & Winter Shows, Christmas Market, picnics, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Book Fair, Trick & Treat charity, Kindness Day, school camps, ski trips, Art Festival, St Patrick’s Day… Some are open to whole families.

Where do your graduates continue their studies?

We prepare pupils for selective bilingual Czech grammar schools as well as international schools. Our goal is to keep both pathways open so families can choose what suits them best.
