Primary School Brandýs nad Labem

6–15 years

Individualised education in a bilingual environment that prepares pupils for future success.
We are a faculty school of Charles University, Faculty of Education.

Welcome to the Primary school in Brandýs nad Labem. We offer a modern and inspiring learning environment with an emphasis on an individual approach to every pupil. The school is equipped with state-of-the-art digital technologies (e.g. interactive whiteboards, iPads, 3D printers), spacious classrooms, and an outdoor relaxation area. We have a swimming pool directly in the school building, where pupils take swimming lessons every year. As part of PE, we also go ice-skating and take part in ski courses. We regularly organise school trips in nature as well as abroad (e.g. Switzerland, France, England). We run a wide range of extracurricular activities that complement lessons and develop pupils’ interests.

Our students take part in national testing – Scio tests (Years 5, 7 and 9) – and competitions (Kangaroo Maths, Logic Olympiad, Pythagoriad). In English they sit international exams: in Year 4 – Key for Schools (level A2), in Year 6 – PET (level B1), and in Year 8 – FCE (level B2).

At Tip Toes Primary school we create an inspiring bilingual environment where children learn with joy and enthusiasm. Our goal is to nurture confident, well-rounded individuals ready to continue successfully in further studies.

Educational Programme

A Step in the Right Direction

School Educational Programme accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic

Our Primary schools offer a unique educational programme called “A Step in the Right Direction”, which emphasises an individual approach and the development of language skills.

Through the CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning), we connect subject teaching with intensive study of the English language.

Field of study code: 79–01–C/01 Primary School

The programme was created in accordance with the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education (Ref. No. 31 504/2004-22, as amended by Ref. No. 27 002/2005-22, Ref. No. 24653/2006-24 and Ref. No. 15 523/2007-22).

All Primary school documents are publicly available in the headteacher’s office.

What people ask us most often

How does teaching work?

Our programme “A Step in the Right Direction” is based on differentiated instruction according to pupils’ talents, aptitudes, and interests, with a strong focus on mastering English. We teach English using the CLIL method, which we start from Year 1. In this way we create a natural environment for subject learning while simultaneously developing language skills in a bilingual setting.

Do you offer an after-school club?

Yes. The club is open to all pupils in Years 1–5. The morning club runs from 7:30–8:30 and the afternoon club from 15:00–17:00. We ensure a varied programme full of games and fun activities and, of course, time spent outdoors. The fee for the club is already included in the tuition.

Do you run after-school activities?

Yes. For example: multi-sport skills, LEGO robotics, dance club, Krav Maga, first-aid club…

What catering options are available?

We care about varied and balanced meals. Lunches are provided by Česká jídelna, which also handles intolerances and allergies. We offer a choice of 4 meals plus a dietary option.

Can students take any international English exams?

Yes. Our students sit international English exams – in Year 4: Key for Schools (A2), in Year 6: PET (B1), and in Year 8: FCE (B2).

What activities do you organise during the school year?

We organise a wide range of talks, prevention programmes, webinars, performances, and events. For example: bike trips, rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, Summer Show, Winter Show, Christmas Market, picnics, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Book Fair, Trick&Treat charity, World Kindness Day, school camps, ski courses, Art Festival, St. Patrick’s Day… Some of these are open to whole families.

Where do your graduates continue their studies?

Our students study at Czech bilingual grammar schools or at international schools abroad. Our goal is to prepare children so that these pathways remain open and they can choose the route that suits them best.
